"Whoever serves me must follow me,
and where I am, there will my servant be also."
- John 12:26
"We are what he has made us,
created in Christ Jesus for good works,
which God prepared beforehand
to be our way of life."
- Ephesians 2:10
If life is a journey, it is one not easily navigated. Among its possibilities, joys and triumphs are many false starts, pitfalls, and dead ends.
How do you find your way?
Early Christians were called "Followers of the Way" -- the way of Jesus. In his life and teachings, in his death and resurrection, they saw a way of living surrounded by a love which could not be defeated by "hardship, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril, or sword." And this love enabled them to see everyone through the eyes of compassion, nurture and healing, and commit themselves to helping others on their journeys as well. Simply put, the way of Jesus, is the way of love -- love from God, love for God and love of neighbor.
At FirstChurch we invite you to journey with us as we seek to follow the way of Jesus and to grow up into the image of Christ. To aid you in
this we offer traditional Sunday School Classes, Short Term Studies,
9-month Long Term Studies in Discipleship and an on-line Bible study accessible all year round. All are designed
to provide sustenance along your journey and to help you understand where Christ is calling you to go.
Check out the
